NATIONAL COUNCIL OF CHURCHES CALLS ON FAST FOOD CHAINS TO “ACT LIKE TACO BELL”

On June 1, the National Council of Churches executive board issued a call to McDonald’s, Burger King, and Subway to follow the lead of Taco Bell in ensuring the human rights of the tomato pickers in their supply chain.

As former endorsers of the Taco Bell boycott, the NCC and their 45 million Christian and Orthodox members from across the country have thrown their weight behind the call for the rest of the nation’s fast food chains to take responsibility for the subpoverty wages and inhumane working conditions faced by farmworkers.
