… “1,000 Toys for 1,000 Children.” The CIW hosted the event and the CIW/Univision partnership resulted in an event so popular that the final official count was 1,200 toys for 1,200 children!
Parents brought their children to share in the special day and to enjoy the spirit of the season, a much-needed boost following one of the hardest fall seasons in many years, with Hurricane Wilma hitting just as the harvest was set to begin and leaving thousands of people scrambling for work...

But this year, thanks to a surprise visit from our friends at Univision, children's wishes were granted and we all could forget, if even for a moment, the daily struggle to survive in Florida's fields.
