2012 Northeast Tour continues, crew heads south from Boston to Carlisle, PA, and a visit to Ahold’s Mid-Atlantic corporate headquarters!

No matter where along the eastern seaboard it is, Ahold’s response is still the same: Stay out of our building, no one will be meeting with you today, and we’d appreciate it if you’d leave now…

Above, a student from nearby Dickinson College joined CIW members and their allies from Immokalee for an impromptu picket outside the Carlisle, PA, headquarters of Ahold (the Dutch parent company of the Stop & Shop and Giant brand supermarket chains). The picket took place following the second rejection in two days by Ahold executives of the workers’ request for a dialogue on the CIW’s Fair Food Program and how Ahold can do its part to support the changes taking place in Florida’s fields today.
