Early Jan. Tallahassee, FL
During the March for Farmworker Justice from Quincy to the governor’s mansion in Tallahassee, the 200 marchers stopped for a protest in front of a Taco Bell.

Feb. 3-4 UF — Gainesville, FL
The Taco Bell Truth Tour arrives at the University of Florida. The two days included interactive workshops and activities with students and community activists as well as a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with around 150 protestors.

Feb. 10-11 New College — Sarasota, FL
The Taco Bell Truth Tour arrives at New College. The two days included interactive workshops and activities with students and community activists as well as a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with around 150 protestors.

Mid-Feb. Gulfport — Sunflower School
The Sunflower School decides to stop using Taco Bell as their source for a special lunch for around 60 students every Friday.

Feb. 17-18 Eckerd College — St. Petersburg, FL
The Taco Bell Truth Tour arrives at Eckerd College. The two days included interactive workshops and activities with students and community activists as well as a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with around 200 protestors.

Feb. 24-25 FSU — Tallahassee, FL
The Taco Bell Truth Tour arrives at Florida State University. The two days included interactive workshops and activities with students and community activists as well as a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with around 100 protestors.

March 3-4 UM — Miami, FL
The Taco Bell Truth Tour arrives at the University of Miami. The two days included interactive workshops and activities with students and community activists as well as a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with around 200 protestors.

April 1 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NATION-WIDE BOYCOTT!!!!!
Orlando, FL
After a festive demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell with over 250 protestors, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, officially announces the nation-wide boycott.

Early April University of Miami — Miami, FL
Amnesty International at UM holds a petition-drive to raise awareness about the boycott and gather signatures of students who support the boycott.

April 4 UT — Nashville, TN
Students, community activists and local labor organizations organize a demonstration in front of a local Taco Bell.

April 5 UF — Gainesville, FL
The Student / Farmworker Alliance (SFA) at UF spends several hours in front of the campus Taco Bell passing out “taco” flyers along with free burritos made from organically grown produce from local small farmers in order to raise awareness about the boycott and encourage potential customers to no longer eat at Taco Bell

April 8 University of Notre Dame — Indiana

April 12 UF — Gainesville, FL
Pax Christi stages a sit-in on campus called “Unveiling consumerism” to raise awareness about the conditions under which our food and clothing are produced. One of the central topics is the Taco Bell boycott.

Mid-April CSU — Fresno, CA
Students set up an information table to raise awareness about the Taco Bell boycott on campus and gather signatures on petitions.

April 22 Gainesville, FL
In celebration of Earth Day, members of the North Central Florida Green Party pass out handbills about the Taco Bell boycott in front of a local Taco Bell.

April 23 UCLA — Los Angeles, CA
“Who’s Working for you” action — Students at UCLA organize an interactive activities to raise awareness about the conditions under which our food and clothing are produced. One of the central topics is the Taco Bell boycott.

April 23-28 FGCU — Ft. Myers, FL
The SFA at FGCU organizes a “Farmworker Awareness Week” centered around the Taco Bell campaign with workshops, flyering, tabling and petition signing.

The SFA at New College organizes a “Farmworker Awareness Week” with the Taco Bell boycott one of the central focuses.

The National Farmworker Ministry organizes a protest in front of a local Taco Bell.

Ft. Myers, FL
The SFA at FGUC organizes a protest at a local Taco Bell combining members of faith communities, unions, community organizations and students.

Gainesville, FL
All morning, members of the SFA at UF pass out flyers in front of all five Taco Bells in Gainesville. At 2:00 PM, activists stage a remake of the “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” in front of a local Taco Bell. In the middle of the protest, around 30 demonstrators dressed as tomatoes ride in on bikes to join the demonstration. This is followed by “Tomato-tron”, a six-foot tall angry tomato on wheels.

The Farmworker Support Committee organizes a protest in front of a local Taco Bell. Students and community activists hand out hundreds of flyers and speak with potential customers about the boycott. Together they sound off on trumpets and drums to confront the “Tomato of Doom.”

June 7 Naples, FL
Students from Fordham College (NYC) organize a protest at a local Taco Bell after spending two weeks in Immokalee and learning of the situation of farm work.

June 4-8 UCLA — Los Angeles, CA
Week of consciousness-raising activities: a petition-drive, flyering and tabling to spread word about the campaign.

July 3 Los Angelos, CA

The “Little Yellow Schoolbus” passes through LA on its way to Chiapas, Mexico to help build schools. They were greeted by supporters of the boycott in LA. Inspired by the struggle of Florida farmworkers, they took information and supplies with them to spread word about the boycott in Mexico.

July 4 Los Angelos, CA

California supporters spread the word on the boycott to hundreds of participants in the “Farce of July,” stirring up enough excitement to turn the concert into a rally in support of the Taco Bell boycott.

UCLA students spend the day passing out flyers on campus to raise awareness about the Taco Bell Truth Tour.

“Raise the Wage” rally in front of a local Taco Bell. This dynamic protest combined fast-food workers (including employees of Taco Bell), agricultural workers and other low-wage workers to push for an increase in the federal minimum wage and support the Taco Bell boycott. The protest began with an invasion of the Taco Bell by over 60 participants.

A spontaneous Take Back the Streets action put together by 70 participants of the Southern Girls Conference who took over a local Taco Bell and led several radical cheers inside.
