As the season approaches here in Immokalee, the Campaign for Fair Food is heating up around the country!

Hot on the heels of the return of the CIW team from Denver and the Chipotle campaign, a team of CIW representatives — accompanied by members of the Student/Farmworker Alliance and Interfaith Action — has landed in Chicago to prepare the ground for the October arrival of the 2006 McDonald’s Mini-Tour. Also… Be sure to check out the latest letter to McDonald’s executives, this time from Bishop Hee-Soo Jung of the United Methodist Church in McDonald’s own backyard. Bishop Jung oversees the Northern Illinois Conferences of the UMC, an area that encompasses 19 counties (including the city of Chicago), 400 local churches and approximately 125,000 members. Here’s an excerpt:

"I hope there will not be a boycott of McDonald’s as there was with Taco Bell before it made its agreement with CIW. I think a lot of people would support this boycott because of the publicity and success of the Taco Bell boycott." READ THE FULL LETTER HERE…
