BREAKING: CIW to join Abby Wambach, Glennon Doyle on national Together Live Tour!

NEXT WEEK:  CIW takes the Fair Food message on the road to eight major U.S. cities, launches Fair Food Sisters campaign…

Back in early July, when New York Times bestselling author Glennon Doyle and U.S. Women’s Soccer superstar Abby Wambach came to visit the CIW in Immokalee, the beginnings of a powerful new partnership — and friendship — were forged.  Indeed, in the months since then, Abby and Glennon have brought their strategic insight, unshakeable determination, and hard-earned celebrity to the Fair Food movement and the fight to bring respect and dignity to the country’s fields.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the first of what will surely be many joint endeavors: the CIW’s own Lupe Gonzalo will be joining Glennon and Abby and a dozen other incredible women — including Olympic Medalists, authors, actors, and activists — for eight stops across the United States on the second annual Together Live Tour!

Here’s the scoop from the Together Live website:

Speakers take the stage at 2016’s inaugural Together Live Tour

Together Live is a national touring event — headlined by Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach, Luvvie Ajayi, and emceed by Jennifer Rudolph Walsh — that will bring an array of thought leaders, local activists, artists, athletes, and celebrity guests to cities across the country this fall for a night of inspired talks, interviews, and interactive conversation.

During this three-hour experience, you will hear from badass earth-shakers, hilarious heroines, and authentic storytellers.  We will focus on finding purpose, overcoming fear, choosing love, and effectuating change. You will leave asking questions about your own path; where you came from, why you’re here and where you are going.

This community is a radical, vital act of love and transformation during an important time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for, and it’s time for us to come together.

Together is inclusive and welcoming, selling tickets starting at $25. We hope you can join us.

All Together Now.

On the road with Glennon and Abby, Lupe will be launching the Fair Food Sisters Campaign, a brand-new community initiative designed to channel the inspiration and energy of the Together Live tour into the Campaign for Fair Food and Wendy’s Boycott.

Answering the call for solidarity from the CIW Women’s Group, the Fair Food Sister network will be composed of women’s rights advocates, including longtime CIW allies, new friends of Immokalee farmworkers looking to bring the movement to their communities, and members of national women’s rights organizations.  You can even check out the new splash page for the Campaign, hot off the presses, at  Make sure to spread the word!

For now, check out the tour schedule to see if Together Live is hitting your city, and make sure to get your ticket before they sell out!

Stay tuned for updates from the Together Live tour stops over the next month, and for even more exciting news out of the Wendy’s Boycott in the weeks ahead…
